Duelund tinned copper wire has similar sound characteristics as the taste of the original Western Electric (WE) sound. The USB Reference Series sound very dynamics, with high and low fluctuations are very smooth. Sound density is also very high, with full body, pure and delicate, at the same time sound very musical. The texture is natural with charming music, rich information of premium vinyl/analog sound.
My humble suggestion: Reference Series ~ USB Cable is using all (20GA) thinner Duelund cables, it is in full balance setup with Duelund WE typical sound characteristic, suitable for most Hi-Fi system. If you want more warmer sound with full body of the Duelund WE sound, go for Signature Series ~ USB Cable with higher grade of 16GA cables. Disclaimer: All the Hi-Fi setup different in term of Equipment/Speaker/Room/Accessories etc. so, you may get different results in different setup. The above suggestion is only for your reading reference only.
Before buying, be aware that this cable is ultra thick and stiff. I purchased this cable (1.0m) almost a year ago. It is one of the most musically engaging cables I have used in my system. I have been going back and forth between cables for years. In most USB cables there is always something missing. Some cables are too bright with sibilance, or to slow and homogenized. Unlike the others, this cable goes back in my system every time. It is not for audiophiles wanting the ultimate in top end liquidity and air or the tightest, fastest bass. This cable has a relaxed atmosphere, and full tonality. Yet it retains a complete sense of dynamic range. Voices are natural. Less tensed up than most other cables. I can focus on longer phrases of the music without things jumping out, yet it is also impactful enough to always sound engaging. That also makes it easy to listen for long periods of time. When I first purchased this cable, it sounded great, but also a little bit mid-bass heavy, lumpy, a little sharp up top. After burn-in for a few weeks everything settled down. The sound became much more even. It smoothed out from treble to bass and quickly became my favorite digital cable. I ran the cable straight out of my non-audiophile PC. Even from a generic computer, it sounds better than my high-end CD transport with other brands of digital coax cables. Top notch sound. Build quality is excellent.
