Description
Audiolund Power cord ~ Reference Series
Construction & Design
- Enhanced grounding configuration: Live (L) and Neutral (N) each use a combination of 1 × 12GA + 1 × 16GA + 1 × 20GA Duelund tinned copper conductors.
- For a standard 1.5m power cord, a total of 3m × 12GA + 3m × 16GA + 3m × 20GA Duelund tinned copper wire is used for Live and Neutral, together with 1.5m of silver-plated wire for Ground (G).
- Multiple types and layers of shielding materials are incorporated to help reduce noise and RFI/EMI interference.
- A dedicated damping and isolation design, using multiple anti-vibration and damping materials, helps suppress mechanical vibration.
- Standard length: 1.5m, with other length options available.
Performance & Sound Characteristics
The Reference Series is designed to deliver an exceptional performance-to-price ratio, making it a strong reference point for evaluating high-performance power cords.
Its presentation is dynamic, smooth, and well balanced, with natural transitions between high- and low-level passages. Sound density is substantial, with a full-bodied, pure, and delicate character while retaining a strong sense of musicality.
The tonal texture is natural and engaging, with rich musical information and a presentation reminiscent of premium vinyl and analog playback. The Duelund tinned copper conductors contribute sonic characteristics inspired by the classic Western Electric (WE) sound: warm, natural, harmonically rich, and musical.
Overall, the Reference Series is designed to bring out the natural flow and melody of music, creating a coherent, engaging, and relaxing listening experience.
Conductor Cross-Sectional Area
The estimated conductor cross-sectional area of the Reference Series Power Cord is: 5.14 mm² per meter, per +/- channel (Duelund copper).
Audiolund Recommendation
The Reference Series Power Cord is designed to provide a balanced interpretation of the characteristic Duelund/Western Electric sonic signature, making it particularly suitable as a reference power cord in a well-balanced audio system.
As a general system-matching guideline:
- Front-end equipment: Reference Series Power Cord
- Back-end equipment: Signature Series Power Cord
However, system matching remains a matter of equipment synergy and personal preference. Audiophiles may choose to use Reference Series power cords throughout the entire system, or alternatively use Signature Series power cords for all components, as both share a similar Duelund/Western Electric-inspired sonic character.
The key difference is that the Signature Series incorporates an additional 12GA Duelund conductor for both Live (L) and Neutral (N). This increased conductor capacity is designed to provide a fuller-bodied presentation with greater overall authority and refinement.
Cable Run-In
Audiolund cables primarily employ multi-core designs with carefully selected combinations of conductors. As a result, sufficient run-in time is recommended for the cables to reach their intended performance.
OCC silver conductors, particularly thicker solid-core designs, generally require a longer run-in period than Duelund tinned copper conductors, which use multiple parallel fine strands.
As a general guideline, we recommend approximately 100–200 hours of run-in.
After just a few hours use this is noticeably bettering my previous (not to be named here) branded audio cables. There has been an improvement in overall frequency extension at both extremes, added depth and fine detail and a richness to the sound while simultaneously giving greater transparency in the midrange. I know these will probably take me about a month to fully burn in though already I’m enjoying these cables. I bought 1x Signature power cable for my Pass Mini Aleph, and 2x Reference power cables for my Musician Aquarius R2R DAC and Gustard U18 DDC respectively. I’m uncertain as to whether there would be sonic benefits to upgrading the cable on my OCXO clock so have no changed that at this time.
Very good sounding and musical cable
This+ a Signature cable made a big difference, Dynamic range, clarity, instruments have their own place , love them.

Lite up for two days, very great products, my own system has a high frequency slightly, the music is not enough, I will change the wire on the Music Tour ECI6, and I used a country’s production line, probably More than 600 prices, after Durant tuning, the sound is obvious and more got, nor is it ignorant, and the vocal thickness is enhanced. At present, this price, really value, very satisfied

After running in, it is actually quite good. Used it to power my integrated tube amp
Does help the system to be transparent & accurate. Clarity improved. Bass & treble sharper. Slightly bright but still musical. My older power cord from Japan. So this duelund cable quite impressive, & quite well implemented by audiolund.
