27. Xtreme Series ~ USB A-B Cable (Duelund)

Designed and handcrafted with multiple combinations of Duelund tinned copper cables, carefully fine-tuned to achieve highest sound quality and to minimize signal transmission loss.

Standard USB version: 1 USB-A and 1 USB-B without separate 5V DC power supply.
Dual-headed USB version: 2 USB-A + 1 USB-B. This design for a separate 5V DC power supply, 1 USB-A plug in to audio source, the other USB-A plug in to 5V DC power supply.

Typically, USB cable use wires between 20 AWG to 28 AWG wires. The Xtreme series USB uses 16AWG wires, exceed the spec limit for USB cable. It is OK for audio device application for best sounds, however, it is not recommended to use this Xtreme series USB cable on other non audio application.

We do not use a precision measurement equipment to measure, however, all series of the USB Cables are tested and verified on a few different high-end systems (Streamer/Transport/DAC), with no signal error, perform better and comparably with other famous branded USB cables and thus, it is confirmed that it should be meeting the 90 ohm specification. So far, it is working fine on all the audiophiles’ system with various combinations/setup.

The USB Cable Xtreme series has the same sound quality and characteristics of the Signature Series. Xtreme series use higher grade of Duelund wires, so it does improve the overall presentation of the sound. The Xtreme Series is designed to bring out the melodies of your music to give you a harmonious and soothing experience. It has the similar Duelund tinned copper wire of sound characteristics, as the taste of the original Western Electric sound. The Xtreme Series are designed for audiophiles who demand the best sound quality.

My humble suggestion: Xtreme Series ~ USB Cable is using all 16GA Duelund cables, it is with Duelund WE typical sound characteristic. Upgraded to 16GA wire give a more full body and more warmer sound. Disclaimer: All the Hi-Fi setup different in term of Equipment/Speaker/Room/Accessories etc. so, you may get different results in different setup. USB A-B Plugs Orientation

Audiolund cables are quite thick and stiff, although it could be bend easily, but could be hard to “twist” if the orientation of the plugs is not aligned properly. The standard orientation for USB A-B plug is as above, however, it is also depending on how you place your equipment, Top to Down, Left to Right or Right to Left ?
Please provide a picture of your equipment, looking from the back, to show the USB A-B connectors.

Cable Run-In: Audiolund cables are mostly multi-core design with various combinations of wires. Thus, all Audiolund cables will require long time to run-in.  OCC Silver wires are thick solid core wires, will take even longer time to burn-in than Duelund tinned copper multi-strands of parallel thin core wires. The general guideline for run-in time, estimated 100 – 200 hours.
