Performance & Design Philosophy
While precision laboratory measurement equipment is not utilized, the Flagship Series SPDIF Coaxial Digital Cable has been extensively tested and verified across multiple high-end Transport and DAC systems. Testing confirmed error-free signal transmission and performance comparable to, or exceeding, many well-known 75-ohm SPDIF coaxial cables. Based on these evaluations, the cable is considered to meet the requirements of the 75-ohm SPDIF specification.

Flagship Series Philosophy
The Flagship Series was developed to combine the finest qualities of both worlds: the rich, natural character associated with vintage Western Electric-inspired sound reproduced through Duelund Tinned Copper conductors, and the detail, resolution, and openness delivered by 5N OCC Silver conductors.
It is designed for owners of highly revealing systems who seek the highest level of performance from an SPDIF digital cable.
Personal Recommendation
For listeners who equally appreciate both Western Electric-inspired and pure silver sonic characteristics, the Flagship Series represents the most balanced and complete solution within the Audiolund lineup.
If budget is not a primary consideration, the Flagship Series is my highest recommendation. Alternatively, the other four flagship-level series remain excellent choices, each offering a distinct sonic presentation. My personal favorites are the Xtreme Silver Series, Ultimate Silver Series, and Flagship Series, all of which combine the strengths of Duelund Tinned Copper with 5N OCC Silver and/or Duelund Silver conductors.

Cable Run-In
Most Audiolund cables utilize complex multi-core conductor architectures and therefore require an extended burn-in period to achieve optimal performance.
The solid-core 5N OCC silver conductors used in the Flagship Series generally require longer run-in times than Duelund’s multi-strand tinned copper conductors.
Recommended Run-In Period
- General Audiolund cables: 100-200 hours
- Flagship Series: 200-400 hours
Actual run-in time may vary depending on system configuration, listening conditions, and usage patterns.
I recently purchased another one of Audiolund’s cables – this time the top specification Digital Cable known as Flagship. I specified mine with the silver WBT Next Gen Ag locking RCA plugs as this cable is relatively heavy at around 500 grams, and the German plug can be tightened onto the RCA sockets. The appearance is of course, immaculate. I own a Ultimate Silver Series DC cable too – and the construction is on that is exquisite as well. The cables are shielded and use multiple cores of cable so as a result appear initially to be gently unyielding, but they can be teased into shape if you are patient and respectful of the construction. This Flagship Cable has a gold and black foil outer covering that looks and feels elegant and expensive. And expensive, they are not, not in the seemingly unhinged world of high-end audio cables. What you pay for here is total attention to detail and a level of interaction and service that can’t be faulted.
I installed the cable and then set about to deliberately not listen, but this is not an easy task as this cable allows a magical combination of sound that is both very revealing and transparent, but totally easy to listen to at the same time, music sounds three dimensional and spacious as if it has time for you to listen. Which you will do, as recordings that may have sounded constricted or not that compelling are shown in a new light, not bright in the hi-fi cliché sense of the term, but definitely illuminated. This is a superb sounding cable and betters all I have bought so far. Buy with confidence, listen with pleasure.
