Sound Characteristics
The Reference Series SPDIF Digital Cable reflects the distinctive sonic character associated with Western Electric-inspired designs, delivering a natural, detailed, and smooth presentation with a quiet background and, most importantly, strong musicality.
The use of Duelund tinned copper contributes to a relaxed, natural, and musical presentation, with a slightly more laid-back character.
Design & Performance
While we do not use precision measurement equipment to characterize the cable, the Reference Series SPDIF Coaxial Digital Cable has been extensively evaluated with several high-end transport/DAC systems, with stable signal transmission and no observed signal errors during testing.
In our listening evaluations, its performance compares favorably with established 75-ohm SPDIF coaxial digital cables. The Reference Series is designed to combine the natural and musical character associated with Western Electric-style conductors with the clarity and detail typically associated with modern pure-silver designs.
Humble Comments
The Reference Series SPDIF Digital Cable is an excellent choice for listeners seeking a natural, detailed, and smooth presentation with a quiet background and engaging musicality.
Cable Run-In
Audiolund cables primarily employ multi-core designs with carefully selected combinations of conductors. As a result, sufficient run-in time is recommended for the cables to reach their intended performance.
OCC silver conductors, particularly thicker solid-core designs, generally require a longer run-in period than Duelund tinned copper conductors, which use multiple parallel fine strands.
As a general guideline, we recommend approximately 100–200 hours of run-in.
