Construction & Specifications
- Uses multiple gauges of 5N OCC solid-core silver conductors, comprising 17 solid cores: 15GA + 15GA + 18GA + 2 × 7 cores (24GA + 26GA + 28GA + 29GA + 29GA + 32GA + 32GA), combined with 1 × 12GA + 1 × 20GA Duelund tinned copper conductors for both the positive and negative channels.
- A 2.5-meter pair uses approximately 20m × 15GA + 10m × 18GA + 20m × 7 solid cores of 24GA to 32GA 5N OCC silver, combined with 10m × 12GA + 10m × 20GA Duelund tinned copper.
- Multiple types and layers of shielding materials are used to help minimize noise and RFI/EMI interference.
- A proprietary damping design incorporates multiple anti-vibration and damping materials to help control resonance and improve mechanical isolation.
- Standard length: 2.5m, with other lengths available.
- Termination options: Banana plugs or Y-spades.
Sonic Character
The Ultimate Silver Series brings together the key sonic qualities of the Xtreme Series and True Silver Series, combining the natural, smooth, and musical character associated with Duelund/Western Electric-style conductors with the sweet, delicate, powerful, and fast dynamic presentation of modern pure silver.
Similar to the Xtreme Silver Series, it offers a natural and smooth presentation with a quiet background and strong musicality, while preserving the clarity, detail, speed, and dynamic qualities of the True Silver Series.

Choosing Between Audiolund’s Top Five Series
As a simple guide, each series is designed around a different sonic character:
- If you prefer the classic vintage Duelund/Western Electric sound, consider the Xtreme Series.
- If you prefer a modern 5N pure silver presentation, consider the True Silver Series.
- If you prefer the Duelund/Western Electric character with added pure silver characteristics, consider the Xtreme Silver Series.
- If you prefer the 5N pure silver character with added vintage Duelund/Western Electric qualities, consider the Ultimate Silver Series.
- If you value the Duelund/Western Electric and modern pure silver characteristics equally, consider the Flagship Series.
Xtreme Silver vs. Ultimate Silver
Both the Ultimate Silver Series and Xtreme Silver Series are designed to combine the sonic characteristics associated with Western Electric-style conductors and modern pure silver.
Although their tonal balance and presentation differ, both retain characteristics of Duelund/Western Electric-style copper and OCC silver, making them versatile choices for a wide range of high-end audio systems.
If you enjoy both sonic signatures, either series can be an excellent choice.
The Ultimate Silver Series places greater emphasis on the characteristics of modern pure silver. The addition of Duelund tinned copper brings greater musicality while giving the overall presentation a comparatively softer, smoother, and more relaxed character. For listeners seeking the qualities of pure silver without sacrificing musicality, the Ultimate Silver Series is highly recommended.
Xtreme Series vs. True Silver Series
The Xtreme Series emphasizes the classic Duelund/Western Electric-style character, with a presentation that is balanced, natural, neutral, relaxed, detailed, and musical.
The True Silver Series offers a sweet, delicate, powerful, and fast dynamic presentation characteristic of modern silver conductors, together with a stronger tonal presence, slightly warmer character, and richer, fuller-bodied texture.
In simple terms:
- Xtreme Series: Classic, vintage Western Electric-style sound with excellent musicality.
- True Silver Series: Modern pure-silver presentation with a full-bodied, organic character.
Neither approach is inherently better; the ideal choice depends on your system synergy, musical preferences, and personal listening taste.
As a general consideration, listeners using tube amplification may find the Xtreme Series particularly complementary, while those using solid-state amplification may prefer the speed, clarity, and dynamics of the Silver Series. Ultimately, the preferred combination will depend on the individual system and listener.
The musicality of the Xtreme Series and the full-bodied, organic presentation of the True Silver Series inspired us to create two hybrid designs: the Xtreme Silver Series and Ultimate Silver Series, bringing together selected qualities from both conductor philosophies.
OPTION: Select Cable Sleeve Color:
1) Default: Gold Foil + Black Stripe on Black Background
- Provides better wear resistance for the red copper and plastic decorative strips.
2) Silver Foil + Transparent Strip on Black Background
- The silver foil has lower wear resistance and should therefore be handled with greater care.
Cable Run-In
Most Audiolund cables use multi-core designs incorporating multiple conductor types and gauges. As a result, sufficient run-in time is recommended before making a final assessment of their sound.
The relatively thick solid-core OCC silver conductors may require a longer run-in period than Duelund tinned copper conductors, which use multiple parallel thin strands.
As a general guideline:
- Most Audiolund cables: approximately 100–200 hours
- Ultimate Silver Series: approximately 200–400 hours
The Ultimate Silver Series uses a particularly complex combination of multiple solid-core OCC silver conductors and Duelund tinned copper conductors and may therefore require additional run-in time before reaching a stable sonic presentation.
