Duelund DCA16GA600V is a 600VDC-rated tinned copper hook-up wire featuring fine stranded conductors within a PolyCAST thermoplastic dielectric. Developed for power-supply applications, the PolyCAST insulation is designed to emulate characteristics of Duelund’s signature CAST process.
Important: PolyCAST Version, Not Oil/Cotton
Available conductor sizes:
- 12 AWG: 2.2 mm total copper-core diameter, comprising 63 parallel strands of 0.23 mm
- 16 AWG: 1.3 mm total copper-core diameter, comprising 26 parallel strands of 0.23 mm
- 20 AWG: 0.9 mm total copper-core diameter, comprising 25 parallel strands of 0.14 mm
While Duelund’s cotton-and-oil DCAXGA wire is commonly used in simple unshielded configurations, our cables employ a multicore architecture with multiple shielding and vibration-control layers. For this reason, we use the DCAXGA600V PolyCAST version, which is better suited to our cable construction.
The corresponding PolyCAST and cotton-and-oil versions use equivalent underlying conductor geometry, including conductor dimensions, strand count, and parallel fine-wire construction. Our implementation combines these conductors with comprehensive shielding and vibration control to achieve improved noise management, mechanical stability, and consistent performance.
