Sound Performance
The Audiolund SPDIF Xtreme Series retains the natural and musical sonic character of the Reference Series while incorporating further refinements to its conductor configuration, shielding, damping, and connector options.
Although Audiolund does not use precision impedance-measurement equipment to independently verify the cable’s characteristic impedance, the Xtreme Series has been extensively evaluated with several high-end transport/DAC systems and has operated reliably without signal errors. In our listening evaluations, it has also demonstrated excellent performance when compared with established 75-ohm SPDIF coaxial cables.
The Xtreme Series is voiced to reflect the classic sonic qualities often associated with Western Electric (WE) conductors.

Cable Run-In
Most Audiolund cables employ multi-core constructions with multiple conductor combinations, and therefore require an extended run-in period before reaching their intended performance.
OCC Silver conductors use relatively thick solid-core wire and typically require a longer run-in period than Duelund tinned copper, which uses multiple parallel thin strands.
General Run-In Guidelines
- Most Audiolund cables: approximately 100–200 hours
- Xtreme Series: approximately 200–400 hours

I love the sound of Duelund wire, decided to try this digital cable and couldn’t be happier. We had a gathering and this cable arrived right before the end. Excellent cable! Characterized by a slightly warm tone, great timber, fuller body, and extended lows. This series of cables is thick, and will need some manipulation. The sound is absolutely worth it though 👍🏻
